Offshore law firm Appleby says it is opening another offshore office in Guernsey.
The firm says the new office makes it the only administration and fiduciary business with bases in eight offshore jurisdictions.
The new office is set to open in the spring and will focus on offering several legal services including corporate, commercial, litigation, private client and insolvency services. It also says it has been approved by the Guernsey Financial Services Commission.
David Clark, a banking and asset finance partner currently based in London, is to relocate to Guernsey to help run the new offshore office.
The new office will provide legal services for other firms that have relocated to the offshore jurisdiction to make the most of its friendlier business environment.
“The Guernsey office will offer our corporate, institutional and private clients with greater resources and a broader range of structures and jurisdictions, unmatched by any other offshore law firm,” stated the firm’s global managing partner Peter Bubenzer.
He added, “our entry into the Guernsey market further builds our strength and depth across multiple jurisdictions — providing greater resources and a wider choice to our clients.”
